Indonesia endured more than 300 years of colonization by the Dutch, English, and Japanese, during which the people suffered a loss of human rights and exploitation of their natural resources. However, an opportunity arose when the Japanese surrendered, leading to Indonesia's declaration of independence on August 17, 1945, by Soekarno and Hatta.

This triggered a conflict with the Dutch seeking to regain control, resulting in a war of independence across the nation. Eventually, after the Dutch-Indonesian Round Table Conference ("Konferensi Meja Bundar"), Indonesia achieved true independence through the resolute efforts of its national heroes.
