The city of Achroma is set 100 years into the future, where music and dancing are no longer relevant, and the Achromians set everything aside in favor of pursuing fame and fortune. At first glance, the city seems prosperous and stately. However, when Benjamin, the son of Achroma's leader, Neo-Suzerain Alecto, accidentally discovers a group of haggard, destitute beggars, he is intrigued by the simple yet happy lives they lead, where dancing and singing are daily occurrences, and a loaf of bread is regarded as the most wonderful thing in the world.

As Ben tries to bring back music--along with joy, warmth and life--back into Achroma, secrets are revealed, dark pasts are unveiled. Will the city welcome this change with open arms, or will the truth rip them apart?
