1998, a period every Indonesian cannot erase from their soul, a period which was once the darkest period of Indonesia. This is the period where everyone suffers from a crisis and a dictatorship that reigned for more than 30 years. The people have no one to rely on, nor anything to be hopeful for.

However, not everyone had lost their hope, a young college girl - or "Mahasiswa" in Bahasa Indonesia -  Yuni, initiated a movement at her campus together with her friend, Rangga, to take on a strike against the government. Nevertheless, this movement caused a miserable consequence; Yuni was kidnapped, and the identity of the suspect remained unknown. Rangga, continued the legacy and took over the movement’s leadership along with Yuni’s sister, Lina, who was in grief of losing her sister.

Meanwhile, in their campus, a new bright student named Rudy came to Jakarta all the way from Ambon Island to study under a prestigious scholarship. Rudy is a loner with no family and a rough past, which made him believe that there’s no hope for this nation. However, a confrontation broke out after Rangga’s idealistic thoughts clashed with Rudy’s skepticism.

On the other side, the movement has to face a threat from the government, who takes a more serious action against their oppositions. How could this strike continue to fight with such a huge risk? And what holds them together to fight?
