Under the reign of Nek Panggau Wahea, the sacred Dayak tribe of Wahea always lived in peace and harmony for generations.

When Nek Panggau's only daughter, Arai Maharani, came of age, he made a wedding arrangement between her and Patih Bakena Dayuh, the son of the noble family in Wahea. It was the marriage everyone in the whole land has been waiting for - the perfect couple to marry and lead the tribe together.

​

However, amid the wedding preparation, Arai ran into her childhood friend, Djatta Aji, who had just come back from Batavia, where he and his family moved to pursue a better livelihood. They both relived their childhood memories and Aji shared stories about Batavia. As Arai showed growing interest for a life beyond the jungles, Aji invited her to go to Batavia and live with him. But it wasn't long before calamity came - the Dutch colony invaded Punan.

As Nek Panggau let his men into the war, Patih, offered his assistance as commander. New agreed and they confronted the awaiting danger together. Yet, an internal conflict brewed when Aji stepped up to offer Patih help. To Patih, Aji was merely a educated boy without any sense of patriotism. But to Aji, Patih was just an entitled prince with arrogant attitude.

Whom will Arai choose? What does Aji have to offer Patih? Will it be enough to save Wahea and the whole land of Borneo?
